The Way I Love You

~girl parts~
The way I Love You
I don’t feel silly
Lying here alone thinking of you
Missing your sweetness
Your touch- your mouth
Believe me
I want you next to me- and when you are
Can’t get you quite close enough
Could simply swallow you up
Love you more than humanly possible
Something beyond metaphysical
Beyond this world
I love you the way God loves me
I love you the way I love my mama
Love you how I love my children
I love you that way…
When lights are low and lips slowly meet
Skin to skin- sexiness within
Yes
I love you like that
Deeply and profoundly
Ships at sea- lovers at night
Wings that take flight
White clouds over beaches
Sunsets painting the sky a crescent red
Moon glowing against your face at night
Yes
I love you that way
*Note from Author
~my ex-girlfriend was the inspiration behind this piece. i wrote it when things were beautiful between us. i have publicly shared this poem out of respect for what we used to have. it’s over now and i’m in a much better place because of it. the lesson i was meant to learn from that relationship has been accomplished, thus placing me in a position to meet the love of my life. i don’t worry about people from my past, now. there’s a reason why they didn’t make it to my future~
